Welcome to my website! If you are a new to motherhood or just looking to deepen your connection as a mother I am here to help! Browse the tabs to see what services are available for you. Henry’s Heart Art Therapy provides individual and group experiences to foster bonding between you and your baby, relaxation, self expression, stress management, and a sense of community with other moms. I look upon each pregnancy as a unique part of your motherhood journey. Your artwork becomes a visual record of your process that you will be able to reflect upon long after your baby is born. Henry’s Heart Art Therapy was founded in 2015 by me, Susan Jacobsen ATR-BC, LPC . I am a registered and board certified with the American Art Therapy Association and the Art Therapy Credentials Board having earned my Masters of Science in Art Therapy from Emporia State University in 1991. I am also a licensed counselor in the state of Colorado as well as in the state of Nebraska. I am certified as a Level 2 Trauma Informed Art Therapist as well as a trained SoulCollage (R) Facilitator. I have worked in a variety of settings including in-patient, out patient and home based therapy. I have worked in the areas trauma, grief and loss, brain injury as well as adoption and birth parent counseling. I would be honored to be a guide and witness to your journey to and through motherhood and beyond. Henry’s Heart Art Therapy is named after my son Henry who was born at rest in 2003 as a result of HELLP Syndrome. This loss and two subsequent miscarriages I experienced before having my second son, Jens has motivated me to create Henry’s Heart Art Therapy. Henry’s Heart is not only to be a place for expectant mom’s to bond with their babies and explore their thoughts, feelings, hopes, fears and dreams related to motherhood but to also be a soft place to land for those who experience infant loss through miscarriage or still birth. Losing my son, experiencing miscarriage, fertility struggles and the challenges of parenting after loss have given me a greater understanding of life, death and motherhood. I have a deep place in my heart for others who join me on this journey. Henry’s Heart is, and always has been dedicated to the wellbeing of all people regardless of race, religion, gender, and/or sexual identity. I accept payment in the form of cash or check at the time of service. I do not currently accept insurance payments but I am happy to provide you with information to submit to your insurance company under my LPC.
