About Norva
The body is one of the most beautiful ecosystems that exists. It is constantly correcting itself to harmonize not only on the physical plane but also on the emotional and spiritual one. Understanding this helps us understand the power we have within ourselves. It’s so amazing to walk alongside my clients as they walk into their power and begin to heal themselves. There is a very natural balance of life. Tuning in and opening up the infinite possibilities that lie in every human is not only at the base of approaching health, but overcoming any obstacle that my get in our way of our journey.

I began a journey that changed my life forever.
I received my Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine including: Chinese herbal medicine, Shiatsu massage and Tui Na at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in New York. While at PCOM, I had the opportunity to work in the neurology department at the Veteran’s Hospital, St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, and The Grand Meridian Clinic in Chinatown. I am a licensed acupuncturist in the State of New York, a national certified diplomat in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Over the past 10 years of practice, I have continued my education, studying Five Element acupuncture with Lonny Jarret, Whole Heart Connection with Thea Elija, the Pulse System and Classical Pulse System with Ross Rosen, Neurofunctional-Electro acupuncture with Dan Wunderlich, Facial Rejuvenation, and the Classical Acupuncture system with Jeffery Yuen. I have also volunteered at home at community clinic in Brooklyn as well abroad, training local healthcare practitioners in auricular acupuncture and treating over 1050 indigenous people with Global Healthworks Foundation in Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala. Specialties include orthopedic conditions, woman’s health, fertility (ABORM certified), stress/emotional management, and facial rejuvenation.

Above all, it is important to me to live the medicine; I believe that the pursuit of balance, health and healing is a continual journey for both patient and practitioner. That is why I founded Shen Shu Acupuncture, a private practice that allows me to put patients first, as I continue to learn and grow as a healer, finding the calm amidst the chaos in the heart of New York City.
