The Upledger Institute
The Barral Institute
New York License #27-019977

The New York License for practicing massage is granted only after a minimum of 1,000 hours of formal training in subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Neurology, and Kinesiology. All functional systems within the body — cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, integumentary, etc. — were covered in detail. During the course of study, Eugene focused his attention on the practical application of the interconnections between these systems.

In other words, during his training, Eugene was constantly refining his ability to apply these core curriculum medical texts and translate the information within them in a way that can be useful to a living, dynamic human being — who is too often experiencing serious pain. His extensive study of Eastern and traditional modalities include:
Acupressure
Shiatsu
Tui-na
Five Element Theory
Asian Massage
Swedish Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
Myofascial Release Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy
Neuromuscular Therapy
Sports Massage
CranioSacral Massage
Visceral Manipulation
Massage for Pain Relief
and More!
Eugene has over 20 years of experience, which aids in his ability to translate the background theories of the practicing Massage Therapist into measurable pain relief!

American Massage Therapy Association

The AMTA, or American Massage Therapy Association, is the premier-choice professional association for many a Certified Massage Therapist, including Eugene. He is also the former President of the New York AMTA chapter, which is committed to encouraging excellence in all aspects of the profession. From your intake visit to your long-term recovery plan, working with a member of AMTA connects you with a local community that shares your goals and values.

Membership association benefits the client in other ways as well; you know that Eugene is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards of the industry and is constantly working to advance the accessibility of powerful healing modalities to the general public.

National Certification Board for Massage Therapy and Bodyworkers

The NCBMTB’s National Certification is a credential awarded only to the most qualified applicants. It is sometimes considered the massage therapists’ equivalent of a bar exam; this test is a rigorous and comprehensive examination of the core knowledge required in the field. When a therapist passes the exam, they have demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the highest standards for working in the field as well as their ability to uphold the NCBTMB’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

It also is a commitment to continuing education units — 48 approved continuing education units, or CEU’s, must be acquired every four years in order to maintain this credential. When you work with Eugene, a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, you will always experience the latest in industry knowledge, as applied in his professional practice.

The Upledger Institute

The Upledger Institute is an organization whose continuing education programs are recognized by the NCBMTB. These training programs are sought after not only by Licensed Massage Therapists, but by Physical and Occupational Therapists, Doctors of Chiropractic, Orthopeodic and Medical Doctors.

The intensity of light-touch therapy has attracted the positive attention and feedback from many patients with spinal cord injuries, neuropathies, and various other traumatic wounds. Eugene is engaged in a CranioSacral Certification program from the Upledger Institute, as a part of his ongoing efforts to bring the most relevant treatments available to every client.

The Barral Institute

The Barral Institute is an organization dedicated to training a vast variety of health care professionals and allied health care providers with the techniques of Visceral and Neural Manipulation, as well as Fascia, Membrane, and Muscle Energy modalities.

In addition to being an active member of the above organizations, Eugene has an extensive background in neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, active isolated stretching, Shiatsu, Tui-Na, reflexology, and more.
