Ann Udofia

Physical Therapist

Dr. Udofia is the co-founder of Body Connect Health & Wellness (BCHW). She has 15 years of clinical experience, and is a successful entrepreneur and thought leader in the areas of pelvic health rehabilitation, physical therapy for chronic pain management, sports rehabilitation and injury prevention. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Arcadia University in Pennsylvania in 2004. After graduating, she worked in a variety of clinical settings from nursing homes (serving as the Director of Rehabilitation at Rock Glen Nursing and Rehab in Baltimore, MD) to hospital and different outpatient orthopedic settings. By combining the versatility of these experiences with the passion to establish a practice that supported longer and more hands on time with her patients, she established her private practice in 2009 called Body Connect Physical Therapy. As her practice expanded, she partnered with Marisa Alonso, MSPT in April, 2013 to create BCHW with the mission to deliver unparalleled health and wellness services to the Metro D.C area.Ann specializes in pelvic health PT(for all genders) with a strong area of interest in women’s and pre-natal/ post-partum health. As a former pelvic pain patient herself, and a mother of two, her commitment in the area of women’s health has led to various accomplishments. These include, successfully treating numerous patients and empowering them to return to a high quality of life, and creating strong trust base partnerships with numerous healthcare providers (e.g. BirthCare & Women’s Health, the Breastfeeding Center of D.C., large hospitals including the George Washington University Hospital, and various primary care physician, orthopedic, urologic and OBGYN practices). She also specializes and has advanced training in the treatment of chronic pain conditions, and sports related injuries utilizing various advanced manual therapy techniques (John F. Barnes Myofascial Release and Visceral Manipulation). She is a strong proponent of wellness and prevention and actively organizes and leads various community engagements to empower her local community of athletes, new or expecting parents, working professionals and chronic pain sufferers about the value of self care. She is a thought leader who has been featured in several speaking engagements and in articles and blogs published in parents.com, mindfulreturn.com, mindfulhealthylife.com and MamaOnTheMend.com As a clinical instructor and an expert in her field, she is engaged with young students, budding therapists and young women/ minority owned entrepreneurs, providing internship and mentorship opportunities for them to grow and thrive in this specialized area of healthcare and entrepreneurialism. Ann enjoys running, and has successfully completed 3 marathons. She also loves to travel. Having lived in four continents across the world (Africa, Asia, Europe and North America), her global citizenship and experiences have enriched her ability to cater to patients with diverse backgrounds. Ann recently relocated to Dublin, CA with her husband, son and daughter and is excited to serve the San Fransisco Bay Area with her continued care.
