Christal E. DeHay, AP, Dipl.Ac., DOM is a master acupuncture physician, herbalist, and homeopathic clinician specializing in women’s health and the treatment of pain, hormonal regulation, IVF assist and reproductive health. She is licensed by the Florida Department of Health in both Acupuncture and Massage Therapy and is nationally board certified in Acupuncture by the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). She received her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine in 2011 from Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Christal is certified as a Detoxification Specialist with the International School of Detoxification in Port Charlotte, FL and certified in Homeopathy by The Center for Education and Development of Homeopathy (CEDH-USA). Christal is a 3rd generation native Floridian raised in Jacksonville. Her father and both grandfathers served in the US Navy; one of which was a WWII Pearl Harbor survivor. Christal’s mother is a leading Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and has been a major influence in the choice of both of her children entering the health field. Christal’s brother became a Radiologist and her husband a registered Paramedic and Registered Nurse, though Christal was always more fascinated with the natural approaches to health care and wellness and was lead to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. During Christal’s high school years she struggled with a period of depression that affected her education, health, and family life. She tried various antidepressant medications which did very little to help. The inability to shift out of the depressive state made her feel weakened, fearful, and alone. She resolved to do anything she could to strengthen her body and mind as naturally as possible, taking back her power she sought out many natural forms of therapy such as meditation, exercise, proper nutrition, and simply doing things that brought joy and peace to her life. She discovered first hand the power of the mind-body connection and the amazing ability the body has to heal itself given the right support. Her introduction to chinese medicine came following her undergrad while studying neuromuscular and craniosacral therapy. Her strong desire to return to school and finish her graduate studies was instinctively decided upon once learning about the amazing holistic approach and philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Christal’s experience and success in overcoming challenges that faced her health and mindset coupled with her expertise and skills in the field of natural medicine allow her to help guide others to conquer their own health and well being.
