Acupuncturist

I spent my early childhood growing up in Durban, South Africa in the early 1960’s where my father practiced Pediatric medicine at McCord Zulu Hospital. I didn’t know it at the time but my greatest influences came from all the doctors and nurses that worked at McCord’s and continue to inspire me to be a vehicle for healing people. I came to Acupuncture by first addressing my own mental and physical health. I was treated at the San Francisco school of TCM for what seemed like Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Within a week of receiving acupuncture and an herbal formula the symptoms were gone and I felt much better. It peaked my curiosity and I attended an open lecture on Chinese medicine to find out more about the program. During this time I was studying Tibetan Buddhist practices, Thai Chi, Taoist philosophy and meditation practices which are all a part of Chinese Medical history. I also study an internal energetic and spiritual practice called Sheng Zhen, the practice of nurturing Unconditional Love. When I moved to Denver in 2005 I realized that studying Chinese medicine would be the way to address both the physical and the mental health issues. I learned that the medicine is a vehicle for treating the whole person, gently opening and guiding us back to our original state of physical and emotional grace and purpose. I went to the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated with a Masters of Acupuncture in 2012 and then completed the Herbal program graduating with the Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2014. I went on to complete a 5 year internship with master practitioner Judi Terrill, L.Ac. becoming certified in Five Element Acupuncture which emphasizes that emotions are often the underlying cause of physical aliments. I also interned at the same time in Five Element Pediatric Acupuncture. I currently treat children under the umbrella of the non-profit and have my own adult practice in the same office. My mission is to serve the community need for maintaining and promoting good physical, mental and spiritual health.
