Marissa Byrum

Acupuncturist

Here is some more about me, in case you were curious.

Education:  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Florida.  I spent 1.5 years of that time doing cancer research in an externship. I earned my Masters of Oriental Medicine from the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL and did an internship at the HealthSouth Rehabilitation facility in Sarasota, FL providing acupuncture free of charge to the patients who were recuperating and undergoing physical therapy and mental counseling there.

Personal:  I am passionate about health and wellness.  I am realistic about what changes my patients can make.  I am constantly reading and learning new information to pass on to my patients.  I come from a military family and I am dedicated to providing healthcare to members of the armed services and veterans, as well as other service men and women such as police, fire fighters, EMTs, Paramedics, and more!  I own a rescued mutt named Gilbert and consider myself an animal advocate.  I am an amateur photographer and love to travel on what I call “photo journeys”.  I ride a motorcycle and love to take road trips around my home state of Florida; I’m a 4th generation Floridian.  Now you know more about me!
