Trish Mitchell

Acupuncturist

My frst exposure to complementary medicine began on a trip to Kenya in 1989 where I studied under a medicine man in a remote village as part of my anthropology major. That experience was life altering in many ways but particularly because it helped me see the brilliance of the body’s innate ability to heal. With that seed planted, along with my own exposure to the magnifcence of Chinese medicine, I embarked on a new career.

I attended the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, TX – a 4 year graduate program – where I earned a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2001. I am licensed in the state of Vermont as well as nationally certifed in acupuncture and Chinese herbology under the NCCAOM (National Certifcation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental medicine).

I assist clients with a myriad of health concerns – whether that is a pain related condition, hormonal or emotional imbalances , autoimmune conditions or feeling lost of vitality. I use multiple modalities to assist the body back into right relationship including acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, cupping, gua sha, lifestyle and nutrition counseling.

I have a deep passion for learning and am always striving to deepen my knowledge and understanding of Chinese medicine in order to serve my patients to the fullest. Some of the post graduate courses I have attended include studying under Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan and Master Herbalist Sharon Weizenbaum. I have additional training in oncology acupuncture and Master Tung style acupuncture.

It is an honor and privilege to work with individuals to obtain optimal health and to witness the transformations in their lives.
